Arnewood Court
Sway Lymington

This project involved the Refurbishment and reconstruction of a listed 19th century unreinforced mass concrete former stables/laundry building to form a unique 3700 ft² dwelling with vaulted concrete celings throughout.

A very difficult but successful challenge was to persuade the National Park Planning Authority to accept that the best way to preserve the integrity of the already deteriorating concrete structure would be to over-clad the structure with insulation and render. In addition to protecting and preserving the structure this solution had the additional benefit of using the significant thermal mass of the concrete to reduce overall energy consumption.
